FAQ on One-to-One Excel Training

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Welcome to the FAQ page for Excel Training School! Here, we address the most common questions our clients have about our Excel training courses, methodology, and how we operate. If you have a question that isn’t covered here, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

1. What makes Excel Training School different from other Excel training options?

One-to-One Excel Training on Zoom, Teams or Skype

My approach is uniquely tailored and personal. I focus on one-to-one, or one-to-few, training, allowing me to adapt each session to the individual’s learning pace, needs, and real-life projects. You don’t get slowed down by anyone else in a large training class and you only get trained in the parts of Excel you need.

This personalized approach, combined with my extensive experience in developing over 1,900+ real life Excel projects for more than 700 clients, ensures practical, applicable learning rather than just theoretical knowledge. I normally use your own files to develop solutions that you need immediately and you develop the skills to create and maintain them yourself. I have my own training files to use too whenever extra demonstrations or explanations are needed.

2. Can I choose between Zoom, Teams, or Skype for my training sessions?

Absolutely! I aim to use whatever platform you’re most comfortable with. Whether it’s Zoom, Teams, or Skype, I can conduct our training sessions on any of these platforms with shared screens for a hands-on learning experience.

3. Do you do in-person training at my office / house / factory?

Yes, I am happy to provide the training anywhere you’d like. I can provide bespoke training courses dedicated to specific departments and can do so in any location. I charge for my time, travel and accommodation costs as needed.

4. Do you offer training for absolute beginners?

Yes, I have a beginner course designed specifically for those new to Excel or those who have minimal experience. My beginner course covers all the basics to get you comfortable with using Excel efficiently.

5. I have specific Excel challenges at work. Can the training be customized to address these?

Definitely. One of the key advantages of our one-to-one training approach is the ability to tailor the content to your specific needs. If you have particular challenges or projects you’re working on, we can incorporate those into your training plan so that you can solve a problem you need while learning how to do it and how to maintain it yourself.

6. How long does each training course last?

Excel Training small group tutorial sesisons

Our standard courses (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) each consist of 4 sessions, with each session lasting 1 hour. Because I only train in small groups then we can accelerate through the topics without external delays. These sessions can be run continuously or separately to suit the speed you want to go and the time you have available. However, the total duration can adjust based on your learning speed and specific needs. I’m happy to keep training as long as you’re finding the course useful and can stop early for you to explore the training skills you’ve developed in between. I’m happy to break down the training into times less than an hour to fit your busy schedule.

7. Is there support available after completing a training course?

Yes, ongoing support is an integral part of our training offerings. After completing your course, if you have questions or need clarification on any of the topics covered, you’re welcome to reach out via email for further assistance and consultancy as my normal rate if it’s more than just a simple answer.

8. How does the one-to-one ad-hoc training work?

My hourly ad-hoc training is designed for individuals who need flexible, targeted assistance. You can book sessions as needed to cover specific questions, learn new features, or get help with a specific project. It’s a great option for those with varying schedules or focused learning objectives. I charge just for the time taken so am happy to start training on a subject even if it only need 10 minutes when the timing isn’t known beforehand.

9. What is the process to start training?

Starting your training is simple:

  • Step 1: Contact me via email with your training needs and goals.
  • Step 2: I’ll arrange a free initial consultation to discuss your objectives in more detail.
  • Step 3: Based on the consultation, I’ll develop a personalized training plan and schedule your sessions.

10. How can I pay for the training sessions?

One-to-One Excel training and coaching

Once your training plan is established, I’ll provide all the details on payment methods. I accept a variety of payment options to make the process as convenient as possible for you, such as debit/credit card, bank transfer or PayPal.
